Nutec is the brand name of a fibre cement board made by Everite- a South African Company. But it has also become the generic name for any structure made using fibre cement boards in SA.
Genuine Nutec is made by mixing portland cement with man-made fibers and silicates to produce a board that is hard wearing, high quality, and guaranteed by the manufacturer. And its priced to match- but worth the investment. Other fiber cement boards, mainly imported from Asia, range in quality and price, and can be used to fit your budget.
Nutec comes in a variety of forms, for example long strips with wood pattern to mimic traditional boards, or large sheets that are applied as flat panels. All fiber cement boards require painting in the same way as rendered concrete walls.

SABS and local building regulations are very clear on the minimum required standards for building a timber framed structure, and we take those as our minimum requirements when building. These range from the correct treated timbers to use, thickness of materials, and the spacing of things like joists and roof beams.
Mainly, frames are made using locally sourced treated pine timber. Properly erected and clad these structures are proven to be incredibly durable and long lasting. However, if required we can also build frames from locally sourced hardwoods such as Saligna.
